Snow Westie

What do you do if you're fifty and at a loose end on a snowy Saturday afternoon? Why, you make a snow Westie in the garden, of course!

We think it looks very like Ted, what do you think? I'm not sure he knows what to make of it :o)

Yesterday, L ventured into the outernet. Good luck, fresh air, with getting past those teenage defences...

M and I walked the dogs across snowy fields this morning....

And then cleared snow from the drive so we could get the car out....

We can get out into civilisation now, although if it freezes tonight the lanes will become skating rinks. The half mara tomorrow has been cancelled. A sensible move, I feel. I've had my two days of snow, now I'd like it to go so I can get back to normal, please.

Hope all are well,

CT :o)

  2. This Snow Westie looks so much better than the very tiny ice/ snow Scottie I made years ago.
The way the leg are in the front it looks like the way the gud dug drop them for playtime. All you need is the big ball by the paws.

    cheers, parsnip

  4. Love the Westie, just like Ted and the teenage defences. Wonderful. Your snowy world looks magic but I know we can only take so much snow in one go. I fear it may take quite a while to shift :(. We’re back to default rain boo hoo. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. B x

  5. The snow Westie is really good! So much better than a snowman... they are so yesterday! 😉
L - wow... how did he find the ‘out doors’ - he looked like he had fun?
My nieces are in Anything Goes show and they did the Anything Snows dance video in their back garden... will email to you if I can!

  7. FAB westie, an afternoon well spent I think. Also over the snow now, ready for normality. Last bit of sledging this afternoon, but we're down to mud in places. Sledges now washed and put away for 2025, when the next lot of snow will fall. Bertie also tired of slush I think. Or maybe just overfull from the raw sausage he managed to eat earlier when no-one was looking. Well done L on appropriate clothing, no chance of frostbite there. Enjoy your Sunday. I am still waiting for cricket nets to be cancelled, otherwise I shall have to get back on the parenting treadmill. CJ xx

    1. Wondering whether you had to go to cricket? Yesterday was the day it all seemed to vanish x

  8. Very impressive, are we going to get a Snow Poppy tomorrow?

I know you’re done with the snow and would like it gone, but it does look wonderful and I still am a teeny bit envious :)

  10. Fabulous! I love the snow westie! E made snow bunnies for Hamish last time it snowed when she was home; he was a little bemused. Looks like L had fun, and it's always best to take full precautions against frostbite! :) xx

  12. Fantastic! I expect your snow westie is the only thing left today. I'm pleased to say our snowman is the only snow in the garden. x

  15. Absolutely love the snow westie! So much like darling Ted :-) All the snow has gone here now, thankfully. Was a bit fed-up of it by the end. How did your trot go yesterday? Mine was a mix of super slidey water on ice and just bog pretty much! I keep dreaming of early morning summer runs :-) xx

    1. It makes me smile whenever I look at it :o) Also glad to have the snow gone. Trot round was OK. Knackered after it though and only 11.5 miles! Have upped my mileage the past fortnight so maybe it's that. I saw you did a cracking distance on Strava. You'll have the Grizzly licked :o) xx

  16. That's such a fun snow Westie - very much alike Ted. I just realise that we didn't build anything with the snow. There was so much of it, we could have built an extension to our house. We did lots of sledging though, it was fun while it lasted. Still biting here, and still quite a bit of snow but getting back to normal.

  17. That's a brilliant snow dog! I didn't make anything this time, but I have made snow-lar bears in the past.
