Ted's Evening In Pictures

After a busy day (I ran ten miles with Dad and Poppy through the forest in the morning. There were bogs. Right up to my armpits. And a river, although not enough of one to wash the mud off. I came back covered in the black stuff, even my face was dirty. Mum said: how did you manage to get mud between your eyes Ted?), I felt I'd earnt a nice lie down between mum and dad in front of the fire last night. Just me, Mum and Dad......

Ah, this is the life. It is nice and cosy. Poppy is no where to be seen.

Oh no, I tell a lie. There she is. On her own bed by the fire. I am pretending I am not here, so she doesn't come over and annoy me. If I just tuck my head down and flatten my ears, I'll look like a bit of Mum's jumper....

I think it's working. Although she's looking worryingly like she might leap up and come and investigate at any second.

Nope. She hasn't. I'm getting away with it. How peaceful this moment is. I wish I could bottle it.

Uh oh! She's up. If I just keep my head down and flatten my ears a bit more, maybe her scratch will keep her so busy she won't come over to investigate...

If I just keep pretending I'm not here....

I've got a bad feeling my plan isn't working. Where is she, mum? Is she still by the fire?

Oh NO! Poppy alert!

It's OK. She's gone off somewhere with mum......hope they're not having squid chews in the kitchen...back to snoozing for me.....happy days.....just me and dad by the fire.....

  4. What a lucky dog you are Ted - having glorious snuggles with Mum and Dad by the fire. Despite Poppy doing her best to look adorable in the background, you are definitely the star of this blog post. Happy snuggling. xx

  9. I know that feeling oh so well Ted. Just as I’m getting comfy my little orange furry friend thinks he’s going to sit next to us too. He even tries to sleep on my pillow at night. Outrageous. I find a good lick soon cleans any mud off my face, you should try it :). Hope you have a more peaceful day today Ebbie xx

  11. Teddy, your little legs must be sooooo strong now after all the running you do. Poor Freddie wants me to tell you that although we had a lovely two hour walk in the forest yesterday, he had to spend it on his lead so wasn't able to go bog snorkelling and he came home disappointingly clean!

    1. Oh poor Freddie. Were dogs not allowed off leads or is he naughty at running away? Ted x

  12. That looks like a cosy evening. If I try to do that, one of the pesky cats comes along and stares at me. It's very unsettling. Well done on the running. Cassie the lurcher x

    1. Dad always laughs at my ears, Tavi. I use them to talk with, silently. You would have LOVED the bogs. Poppy ate some poo yesterday. Mum said it was disgusting but I was rather jealous.... Love Ted xx

  14. Very cosy, especially after a 10 mile run through mud. We make do with our hot water bottles now that winter is knocking on the door. It was snowing in Tuscany today. The weather is not normal.

    1. It's been very mild here with the old cold morning. Most of the leaves are still on the trees and the hazel is still mainly green.
